John C. Willis IV was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1958. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1982. He went on to earn his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Stetson University School of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida, was admitted to the Florida Bar, and began practicing law as an assistant state attorney in Orange/Osceola County, Florida, in 1985.
In 1987, Mr. Willis began defending insurance companies, primarily representing medical negligence insurance companies, and was a shareholder and name partner.
In 1996, Mr. Willis changed his focus to representing injury victims and their families exclusively, with an emphasis in medical malpractice. He founded the law firm of John C. Willis IV, P.A., in 2007.
