Mr. Carter received his degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Mercer University School of Law in Georgia. After practicing with the largest plaintiff’s firm in Florida, Morgan Colling & Gilbert, he left with several other partners, associates, and staff to form Colling Gilbert Wright & Carter.

Mr. Carter takes a very active role in helping injury victims and their families, beyond the courtroom. As a member of the Florida Justice Association (FJA), Mr. Carter frequently meets with and lobbies State Representatives and Senators on behalf of consumers and victims of corporate negligence. He served on the FJA’s board of directors from 2000 to 2004 and currently serves on its Nursing Home Task Force and its Florida Lawyers Action Group Candidate Recruitment Task Force.

Mr. Carter is also an active member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ). AAJ is a national attorneys’ group whose mission is to help individuals and families who have been harmed by the negligence or misconduct of others obtain justice in court no matter how powerful their opponents.
